Bill A. Jones
Best known from his recurring role on the hit TV show GLEE as ‘Rod Remington,’ Bill A. Jones is also an in demand singer who swings the great Standards in the tradition of Frank Sinatra, Bobby Darin, Dean Martin & others.
Bill recently had the honor of opening for Tony Bennett at The Beverly Hilton for St. Jude’s Hospital’s 50th Anniversary Fund Raiser. Other past credits include touring with the Glenn Miller Orchestra, as well as working with 17 piece Big Bands throughout Southern California.
Los Angeles Times reviewer Don Heckman said of Bill, “Jones’s warm baritone, brisk rhythmic flow & easygoing phrasing brought life and substance to everything he sang. In his version of I’ve Got You Under My Skin, sung to Nelson Riddle’s memorable arrangement, he found the Sinatra magic and applied it in his own unique fashion.”
Bill’s first CD, “Frankly” was released on CDBaby.com in 2010, and is now joined by his new release, “I’ve Heard that Song, Big Band Songbook,” with tunes first made famous by the orchestras of Glenn Miller, Harry James, Jimmy Dorsey, and others. Bill is joined on this lovingly produced CD by songstress Bonnie Bowden (formerly with Sergio Mendes), as well as The 40’s Fly Girls, a vocal trio that recreates the exciting Andrews Sisters sound.
For years, Bill was heard as an air personality over radio stations in Los Angeles, as well as nationwide via satellite. As a Voice Over performer, in addition to countless commercials, he’s been the ‘voice’ of The Fox Movie Channel, and of American Airlines’ in-flight audio program “Timeless Tracks.” An in demand emcee and on camera host, Bill’s work has ranged from hosting The Lumen Awards for best lighting design, to The Razzie Awards for the worst films of the year.
Other television appearances, in addition to GLEE include “The King Of Queens,” “Criminal Minds,” “Everybody Hates Chris,” “Las Vegas,” & “Drew Carey.” In film, Bill co-starred with Al Pacino in “S1m0ne,” and starred in the acclaimed short, “The Morning Guy.” Recently Bill was added to the cast of the new pilot, “Dark Prophet.”
